More Info
Breakdowns and Breakthroughs is an album currently in the process of being recorded at Blue Brick Recordings in Avon, New York, with producer Jesse Sprinkle.
This album is intentionally schizophrenic in nature, with songs arranged in chronological order, taking listeners through real-life stories of love, faith, breakup, loss, healing, and revelation. It reflects the tension and contrast of lived experience—the breaking down and the breaking through.
Some of the songs are lighthearted and funny, some are deeply heart-wrenching, and others are rooted in worship. Together, they tell an honest story of growth, surrender, and renewal.
Breakdowns and Breakthroughs spans twelve years in the life of Courtney Ann, capturing moments of vulnerability, perseverance, and faith along the way. This album is an invitation to join the journey—through the questions, the pain, the hope, and the moments where clarity and redemption finally emerge.
Against All Odds
What, oh, what,
can heal these wounds for good?
With every response
so full of void?
Will you fight, oh,
against all odds?
Even when you find,
you’re not enough, Ohhh…
At the start,
I was alone, I thought
But looking back,
I find trace of You.
Will you fight, oh,
against all odds?
Even when you find,
you’re not enough, Ohhh…
Put off your best clothes,
clean your face tonight
You’re foolin’ no one,
so depend on someone else
Who hears you
And you will fight, oh,
against all odds.
Even when you find,
you’re not enough
You will fight, oh,
against all odds.
Even when you find,
you’re not enough
And you never, ever, ever, ever were
Twilight Suite
The rain came, pouring down.
It filled the streets,
But somehow I remain dry.
Are you breaking?
Are you waking?
In the Twilight Suite.
My heart's escaped from its cage.
It melts like wax.
Somehow you turned this stone to clay.
Are you breaking?
Are you waking?
In the Twilight Suite.
You will not penetrate
This iron shield.
I vow you'll stay at arm's length.
Are you breaking?
Are you waking?
In the Twilight Suite.
It's come to this.
Now you've broken me.
I have dropped all of my defenses.
I've come to find
I'm safe within your arms.
Are you breaking?
Are you waking?
In the Twilight Suite?
Are you breaking?
Are you waking?
Are you lying?
Are you crying?
Are you praying?
Are you staying
In the Twilight Suite?
my strength
Where is the song?
Where has it gone?
I used to know it.
I'd whisper and sing it, oh, and I'd hum along.
Where is the dream
that used to beam
inside and out of my heart?
Where can it be?
I know you'd say,
Your joy is my strength,
but when it's gone for so long,
I feel weak.
Where is the passion?
After a fashion
all my emotion
is twisted and knotted,
hidden behind this wall.
Where is my fight?
Cause it's not yet night.
But, I've learned to bite my tongue,
hold it, and keep it in.
I know you'd say,
Your joy is my strength,
but when it's gone for so long,
I feel weak.
Yeah, I know you'd say,
Your joy is my strength,
but when it's gone for so long,
I feel weak.
I feel weak.
Oh, my joy cannot be found in me.
Yeah, my source cannot be seen.

A Great Awakening
Anchors up, the current takes me
Will You jump in and save me?
Will I stay afloat till I sink?
For I know I am sinking
A great awakening, oh
A great awakening, yeah
A great awakening, ah-ah-ah
A great awakening
Shadows fall across my vision
Filtering out Your brilliant light
I want to go till I am somewhere
But I know I am still waiting
A great awakening, oh
A great awakening, yeah
A great awakening, ah-ah-ah
A great awakening
When I break down this barricade
I will find more before me
I won’t forfeit the slightest
I am restless for freedom
A great awakening, oh
A great awakening, yeah
A great awakening, ah-ah-ah
A great awakening
Anchors up, the current takes me
Will You jump in and save me?
Murder of a Kind
Will you dream of our future
Well, the one that could’a been?
Huddled in our apartment
Finding solace from the rain
In the city, away from the tree I love
It’s a murder of a kind
La da di da di… oh
Can I depend on you to carry through the night
With all the dark times, all the sadness bound to pass along by?
So fearful, so hesitant, but I want to give in
It’s a murder of a kind
La da di da di… oh
More than you can realize, you get me
Your eyes affix, they’re soul-piercing
You may not be playing, but the joke’s on me.
It’s a murder of a kind.
La da di da di… oh
I broke my own heart, and I’d do it all again
Just to keep from wasting our precious time
I broke my own heart to save myself from sin
I know the chance for love is coming
Hope… hope
I wanted what was best for you
And I thought that was me
But it looks like I was wrong
I wanted what was best for you
And I thought that was me
But it looks like I was wrong
Yeah, it looks like I was wrong
In Quebec
The sun has been hiding from us for days
These fields remind me of Wales
The look you gave, the smile you made
The tears that well within your eyes
But oh, the heart, who can know it? Do you know
The lies it tells, how it deceives even you? Oh
The stony streets, meandering,
I must commune with you
The soul, a pause, a drink,
And eyes now dimly see
The tread of guilt on me
But oh, the heart, who can know it? Do you know
The lies it tells, how it deceives even you and me? Oh
But oh, the heart, can we know it? Can we know
The lies it tells?
Oh, my heart is aching, Yes, it’s breaking for you.
Ooh.
I Need Jesus (Isaiah 6 cover)
I don’t want to hear any more religious phrases,
So don’t comfort me with the same old Christianese.
I don’t want to see any more of those plastic faces,
Just give me honesty and love, please.
Don’t tell me what to do so I can earn it—
A brand-new Tower of Babel, count me out.
’Cause I tried to climb the ladder up to heaven,
But no one caught me when I fell to the ground.
Yeah, I need Jesus, ’Cause I am broken
I cry out just for grace to believe
I need Jesus, still I’m hoping
He’ll lead me to the place where I am free
Don’t tell the lame to read a book on walkin’
You see, I need His power, or I won’t walk again
And judgment never kept my soul from hurting
You see, it’s only love that makes you a sinner’s friend
I don’t want your teaching, I need someone
To open up their heart and let me in
Show me a life of walking in the Spirit
‘Cause I wanna live by faith, in victory over sin
I need Jesus, ’Cause I am broken
I cry out just for grace to believe
I need Jesus, still I’m hoping
He’ll lead me to the place where I am free
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Whoever calls on Jesus, shall be saved
They shall be saved
Yeah, whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Whoever calls on Jesus, shall be saved
They shall be saved
I need Jesus, ’Cause I am broken
I cry out just for grace to believe
I need Jesus, still I’m hoping
He’ll lead me to the place
He’ll lead me to the place
Yeah, He’ll lead me to the place where I am free
Oh…
Won't Give Up (Isaiah 40:31)
Those who wait upon the Lord
Shall find renewed strength
They will rise on wings like eagles
Run and not grow weary
They’ll walk and not be faint
Though the hem of this towel
Caresses the floor
I won’t back down
I won’t throw it in
I won’t give up on You, no, no
I won’t give up on You, no
I won’t give up on You, oh
I won’t give up on You
I once was found
But now I’m lost
I’ve got it backwards and upside down
I’m inside out
But I won’t give up on You, no, no
I won’t give up on You, no
I won’t give up on You, oh
I won’t give up on You
I stare at fables
And glance at the truth,
Like a child, make me able
To trust in You
For You won’t give up on me, no, no
You won’t give up on me, no
You won’t give up on me, oh
You won’t give up on me
Ooh…

One Church
We are one, we are one, One in the Holy Spirit
We are one, we are one, One Family
We are one, we are one, One in Christ
In Christ we’re free
It’s so good and it’s so pleasant, when we stand together in unity
It’s so good and it’s so pleasant, when we stand together in unity
One body, one Spirit, we’re called to one hope
One Lord, one faith, one God and Father of all
It’s so good and it’s so pleasant, when we stand together in unity
It’s so good and it’s so pleasant, when we stand together in unity
We are one, we are one, One in the Holy Spirit
We are one, we are one, One Family
We are one, we are one, One in Christ
In Christ we’re free
It’s so good and it’s so pleasant, when we stand together in unity
It’s so good and it’s so pleasant, when we stand together in unity
Love your neighbor as your self, this law above all
Love your God above all else, Servant, Savior, Hallelujah!
It’s so good and it’s so pleasant, when we stand together in unity
It’s so good and it’s so pleasant, when we stand together in unity
It’s so good and it’s so pleasant, when we stand together in unity
It’s so good and it’s so pleasant, when we stand together in unity
Sister Song
At night I’d tuck you in, turn out the light, then run to my bed
So you wouldn’t be caught by the monster
I remember all the games we’d play, and the songs we’d sing
Mary had a little lamb, her fleece was white as snow
And my boyfriend took me to the candy store, and he bought me, oh, candy.
Oh, why can’t you be better?
Why can’t you just be my baby sister?
Oh, why can’t you be better?
Why can’t you just be my baby sister?
As we grew, I found friends, And we went out every night
So you found other things to spend your time on
You grew so pale and thin, I didn’t notice
In the hospital, you stared up at the ceiling
When they turned off the light, that monster caught you
Oh, why can’t you be better?
Why can’t you just be my baby sister?
Oh, why can’t you be better?
Why can’t you just be my baby sister?
I found you on the floor, you’d been there for an hour
I arrived in the nick of time, held you in my arms, and we sang
Mary had a little lamb, her fleece was white as snow
And my boyfriend took me to the candy store, and he bought me, oh, candy.
That night I tucked you in, turned out the light, and said, “I love you,”
So you wouldn’t be caught by the monster
Again
Beloved
Dearly beloved, abounding in grace
I want to know you,I want to see your face
Oh I miss you, I miss you
Days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months, it’s all a matter of time
I want to be your best friend, but will you be mine
Like I am yours, oh I am yours
Call Me Lover, call Me Friend, your Counselor until the end
I won’t be mad if you take long, I’ll just be glad when you call
Where do you go, so far from home
And why are you whispering? Why don’t you sing?
For I enjoy you, I enjoy you
Call Me Lover, call Me Friend, your Counselor until the end
I won’t be mad if you take long, I’ll just be glad when you call
Come down the mountain, away from this place
To my garden, for this embrace
Oh I need to know, which way you will go
Come back to me
Call Me Lover, call Me Friend, your Counselor until the end
I won’t be mad if you take long, I’ll just be glad when you call
Yeah, I’ll just be glad when you call
Bittersweet
I hide from Your loving eyes
But they see, they see me, still I try to hide
And I don’t know if You are here, but I hope You are
They say You’ll always be with me, but why should You love me?
And I know You are all that I, all I need
But I am scared of what You might mean to me
In my room, all alone, in a crowd, all alone
And I hope You’re right beside me, ’cause I don’t know You are
When You speak, I try to hear, but sometimes I just plug my ears
And I see all You’ve done, done for me
But I still can’t understand, oh, why You love me
My home is broken down, like crystal thrown to the ground
Do You see, do You see me, inside out and pushed around?
With You, endless possibilities, without You, I fall to my knees
And I want to be with You, show me what I need
To prove my worthiness of the love You’ve given
And I scream, “I don’t know! Oh, show me where to go!”
You smile, “Oh, my dear, there’s no need to fear.”
My home was broken down, like crystal thrown to the ground
Open up Your gates, I trust in You with steadfast faith
Humble all who dwell on high, You are the Rock eternal
You are a refuge for the poor, You are a shelter from the storm
And I know Your shroud enfolds, Your sheet covers the nations
You will wipe away all tears, surely this is our God
And I thank You for Your teachings
Through Your grace, we will learn righteousness
My home was broken down, like crystal thrown to the ground
I know You’re here with me, I hear Your voice, I know You see
Guide me toward Your fame, bittersweet, I’m not the same.
Always With You
When the walls crowd in on you
And nobody seems to care
Know that I’m always with you
And know that I am there
Though my friends are foes, and they’re all I see
Yet I will be glad, He is for me
When tragedy strikes, twice
And there’s no one to turn to
Hope and pray for a better day
And know I have many for you
Though darkness falls and all is dim
I know His light will shine, I’ll trust each step to Him
When the walls crowd in on you, as they will
And nobody seems to care,
Oh, well, know that I, I’m always with you
And I am always there
I’m always there, Oh, run to me, run to me
I’m always there
She
She met a guy, named Ashira
She liked him ’cause he sang her to sleep
She trusted him with her soul, and her body
She didn’t know it then, he was lying
She gave her all and he walked away, never looked back
She had lost a soul, and a body,
She searched the world, and couldn’t find what she was looking for
I do not understand what I do, for what I want to do, I do not do
What I hate, I do, I do what I hate, I do
Enslaved by lies, united with death, there’s nothing good within her
She wants to do good, but the only thing she’s good at is evil
Passion at work, in her body
The only fruit she bore was fruit for death
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature
I have the desire to do what is good, but I can’t
What a wretch I am, who will rescue me from this death?
Ahh…
Does anyone know what I have been through?
Then a Man came, dressed in white
“Girl, I come for you. Now you are resurrected.”
She’s still a slave, but a slave of good
Lies are not her master, the Man, He gave her a new life
Reborn in her spirit, a new body, a new soul
She benefits from holiness and eternal life
Though you used to be a slave to sin, now you obey the form of teaching
To which you were entrusted.
You have been set free from sin, now you are a slave of righteousness
Ahh…
She realized, we all are slaves, of good or evil.
(Repeat to end)
Invisible
In myself, I can do nothing, nothing of worth
All I thought, all was wrong
That worshiping You was somehow all about me
But now it seems
I wanna be invisible
So that everyone might see You through me
I wanna be invisible
Until everything I do leads to You
To cover all my weaknesses I strive
Humility becomes another pride
You lead me to step into the light
But I just hide
I wanna be invisible
So that everyone might see You through me
I wanna be invisible
Until everything I do leads to You
To be a better window than a door
When faithfully I give, and then give more
In all my riches still see that I’m poor
Yes I’m sure
I wanna be invisible
So that everyone might see You through me
I wanna be invisible
Until everything I do leads to You
I wanna be invisible, Ooo
My Strength
Where is the song?
Where has it gone?

Where is the dream?
That used to beam?
Inside and out of my heart?
Where can it be?
I know you'd say
Your joy is my strength
But when it's gone for so long
I feel weak
Where is the passion?

All my emotion

Hidden behind this wall
Where is my fight?
Cause it's not yet night
But, I've learned to bite my tongue

Your joy is my strength
But when it's gone for so long
I feel weak
Yeah, I know you'd say
Your joy is my strength
But when it's gone for so long

Oh, my joy cannot be found in me
And my source cannot be seen

The Carpenter and the King
You make the rain that falls down
You make the sun that shines down
You make the wind, You make the clouds
You make the rain that falls
Far across land, sea, and time, wandering, looking for me
He was the kindest of carpenters one could ever see
Soon in His waders He met a king, this king he didn’t believe
That this insignificant carpenter could love me the way I be
Searching, hoping, looking for me
Searching, hoping, looking for me
Kill said the king to his men, under the evening star
Wandering carpenters should not hope to follow their love very far
Into the wood with dagger drawn, the men pierced flesh in part
But you fret, don’t you cry, our hero crawled out barely harmed
Wounded, wailing, watching to see
Searching, hoping, looking for me
Looking for me, watching to see
Into the dungeon went Carpenter, and that is where He found me
Embracing with happiness at His find, He called for the watchmen to see
After a struggle the guard went down, and we escaped with his key
Into the wood we met His knights, for Carpenter was the True King
The knights they stormed the tower, they threw out the old king
Carpenter took His thrown, I stand by His side
Searching, wailing, finding me
Hero, winning, triumphantly
Finding me, triumphantly
Finding me
Tender Repose
Tender repose, pricked by the truth inside this dream
It was not meant to be seen, mmm…
Circlet of gold, buried beneath the rocky ground
It was not meant to be found, mmm…
Ooo…
Colors all hid, behind the hues of dark and dim
But lighted flecks they question him
Time passes by, truth, hurts, and love begin to fade
Evaporating with the shade
Ooo…
Yearning but still, beside the brook he digs his grave
The colors hope and joy escape, mmm…
Ooo…
Draw
No more shame and loneliness
No more hate and bitterness
We have the victory in Christ, in Christ
When I turn away from me
Turn from all my selfish deeds
All else fades away but Christ, but Christ
I’ll draw close, He’ll draw nearer
As He speaks, I’ll hear clearer
He won’t run away, or hide away
But I’ll hide in Him
Unveiled eyes see Your holiness
Look down and know my brokenness
No longer I who live, it’s Christ, it’s Christ
And, I’ll draw close, He’ll draw nearer
As He speaks, I’ll hear clearer
He won’t run away, or hide away
But I’ll hide in Him
(Repeat)
Anyone?
Picture this, you are lost and dismayed, broken and afraid
But Jesus came to give you new life
Is there anyone who’d go anywhere and say anything?
Is there anyone who’d go anywhere and say anything?
Picture this, someone’s hurt and alone, with nowhere to call home
Will you point to the love, Jesus above?
Is there anyone who’d go anywhere and say anything?
Is there anyone who’d go anywhere and say anything?
Well, anyways
Jesus lived and died, and rose to bring new life
Freed you from your sin and made you whole again
He made you whole again, Oh…
Picture this, everyone you know, wearing a white robe
And one less left to burn everywhere you turn
Picture this, everyone you know, wearing a white robe
And one less left to burn everywhere you turn
Is there anyone who’d go anywhere and say anything?
Is there anyone who’d go anywhere and say anything?
Is there anyone who’d go anywhere and say anything?
Is there anyone who’d go anywhere and say anything?
Who will go?
Long & Winding
I walk down this road, long and winding
Where it leads, no one knows
Why’d You lead me here and leave?
And I don’t know where I’m going, but You could lead me this far
You passed by so long ago, no, I don’t remember at all
I’ll sit here, all day, until You meet with me
I’ll wait till Your eyes meet mine
For there’s none on earth, who loves me like You do
I’ve tried to find someone else, it’s impossible
And I walk toward You, You don’t, You don’t see me
And I try to reach You, but You are so far away
I can’t see You
I cry out, “Please come and rescue me
I don’t know where else to turn
You know where I am, come and get me
You know all I am, and have, nothing.”
And I walk toward You, but You didn’t hear my call
And I run to You, but You didn’t see me fall
Again
I pick, myself up, brush it off, then I stumble
In a corner I, I sit and cry
Your hand, big and strong, You hold out to me
I grasp Your thumb, hold me, Father
And You walk with me, down the winding road
And You run and dance with me, oh, please hold me close
Again

God’s Side
He smiled at me and waved, it's been a long six days, tomorrow I will rest
In His eyes there was a grin, His life was never sin, He gave his life for us
The grass is greener on God's side of the fence,
the grass is greener on God's side
She was so pretty then, pretty kitty then, she was so humble when she was
But now she's older, and she don't understand
She finally took a stand, when she stood up and raised her hand, how could You love someone like me?
He said, “The grass is greener on my side of the fence, the grass is greener on my side”
He whispered in her ear, there's no need to fear, I love you more and more each day. Every morning now she prays
The grass is greener on God's side of the fence, the grass is greener on God's side
The Pretty Little Diddy
This is a nice and pretty, little song
It isn't too slow, and it isn't too long
The song that I sing is for your ears to hear.
It isn't complicated, it's plain and it's clear
Our Father still loves you, no matter what you've done
All of your past was wiped, clean away, by His, by His Son
Turn Your back on the past, Your future is bright
His love will always last, if you focus on the light
Friends
I never understood, just what love is
I know the words, but not what to say
He said he loved me, Lord, what should I do?
He never loved me, Lord, he just wanted to, have some fun
I know You love me, Lord, feel it every day
Just wanna love You, Lord, don't know what to say
But why can't we be friends?
And why do I have to end this love?
How do I tell him, Lord, what he has to hear?
Don't want to hurt him, Lord, or show my tears
I think he knows the words, but not what to say
He don't love me, Lord, I'll tell him today, we're too young
I know You love me, Lord, I love You too
Don't know what to say, just wanted to, love You
Evolution
Some say there is no God, that we are an accident
Big Bang, Evolution
Kaboom, Revolution
Some say there is a God, but Christ is made up
Big Bang, Evolution
Kaboom, Revolution
Who's fooling who? Who's fooling you?
The evil one speaks with a forked tongue
It's so easy to believe him, it's so easy to be deceived by him
But please don't relieve him, don't you go making him relieved
Big Bang, Evolution
Kaboom, Revolution
The good things are worth fighting for
Worth working for, worth striving for
Big Bang, Evolution
Kaboom, Revolution
Big Bang
Footprints
Some things crumble, hearts, like sand through your hands
Some people come into your life and they quickly go
Nothing changes, they don't change a thing
I can't make You love, my Lord, love, Jesus
He created the heart and the sand, you and me
Let your Maker in, you can let Him in, let Him stay a while, He will stay for a lifetime
He leaves footprints in the sand
My Lord Jesus, I can't stop Him from loving you
For You
I know you want to be good, to be honest, and gentle, and kind
But what really matters is, where will you go when you die?
I pray for you every day, that he'll soften your heart, and he'll soften your mind
But why do you keep believing the evil ones’ crafty lie?
It's for you, it's all for you, you're the reason for this song
It's for you, it's all for you, it was for you all along
Don't wanna win a fight, use logic, facts, or a goal
Cause what really matters is, will you let Him save your soul?
You say that life should be fair, that bad thing should not happen to good.
But, free will’s a gift. Would you give up your freedom if you could?
Tears may stream down your face, your head is bowed, and you are ashamed
You think that God will not hear you, but will you call out His name?
No matter who you are, or what you think
No matter what you've done, God loves you, He loves you
You try, and struggle, and strain, and labor until your face is blue
Why don't you just admit he makes all things possible, not you?
It's yours to choose. Make your choice. Your will is free.
But please tell me, where you'll spend eternity?
It's for you that the thorns pricked blood from His head
It's for you that He suffered and died instead
It's for you that they nailed Him, pierced His side
It's for you that He hung on the cross and died
It's for you that He put up with the angry crowd
It's for you that He gave away and cried out loud
"It is finished!”
Choose
Everyone will have to choose between Jesus Christ, the way, the truth, and the life
And the devil who comes to steal, kill, and destroy
Why would anyone choose the darkness over the beautiful, clean, and forgiving light?
Everyone lives forever; it just depends on where you choose.
Why would you live out eternity and pain when you could live with Jesus in heaven?
Heaven will be wonderful. I don't live for today. I don't live for yesterday. I live for tomorrow.
WWJD?
They ask me questions, I don't know what to say. I prayed to Jesus and He told me.
She was so lovely, she was so egotistical. She was so lovely, and she asked me.
WWJD with a life like mine? WWJD?
He'd cover you with his blood. That's one thing He'd do.
He was so sorry, he was so underestimated.
He was so sorry, and he asked me
WWJD to save my life? WWJD?
He'd forgive you all you've done, if you would just ask. That's one thing He'd do.
She wanted nothing, she wanted everything. She wanted nothing, and she asked me.
WWJD? Would he give me love? WWJD?
He’ll wrap his arms around your life, that's one thing He do. That's what Jesus would do.
Simpson Sky
I will believe ’til pigs fly. I will believe ’til the cows jump over the moon. I believe in my Lord.
If you saw God walking down the street, would you ignore Him?
Would you kneel down? Would you ignore Him? Because you do now.
Believe, believe, believe, believe
If you had to believe in your best friend, without seeing his face, would you ignore his presence on this earth?
If you saw Jesus Christ at the grocery store, would you be embarrassed He was there?
Would you be embarrassed ‘cause you don't care?
I will believe ’til Pigs fly!
An Ode
The kids at school don't understand. Did they really know him? I never knew him.
His friends cried a lot that day. She was his best friend, best friend in eighth grade.
Why oh God, why oh God?
He was 16, a junior in high school, oh Lord. I know I don't understand.
How can he die? He was yet to be a man. Why oh God?
I still barely know his name, he was a normal kid and totally sane.
The kids at school don't seem to care. Do they realize that they are merely here, waiting for You, waiting for You?
Understand
He's alone in a crowded room ‘cause he don't know.
His friends ask him if he'd like to go to church
The congregation worships with their hands held eye
He looks around and doesn't know why
He plays along, while they sing their songs
And he goes to church, and he thinks it hurts
And he don't understand, because he is just a man
He goes to church for many Sundays, and one day he decides to pray
His knees buckle, and he begins to cry, and still, he does not understand why
And he decides to pray, and his knees buckle, his knees buckle
And he begins to cry, and his knees, buckle, and his knees buckle
He prays to Jesus, "you could save my life, please save me. I have so much strife"
He weeps and cries, tears fall from his eyes
And he decides to pray, and he will fight to stay, and his knees, buckle, and his knees buckle
And he is just a man, but now he understands, and his knees, buckle, and his knees buckle
And he decides to pray, and he will fight to stay, and he decides to say, that he will fight to pray
When he goes in a crowded room, with his head held high
He's not alone, and he knows why
Sweat of Blood
Judas betrayed the Messiah with a kiss
Master shall we fight, I brought my sword
And one of them cut off an ear, Jesus healed him there
If I tell you, you won't believe me, if I tell you, "He's the son of God."
They whipped and tortured Him, they put a Kingley robe on Him
Herod and pilot became friends, A mighty roar rose from the crowd
As one voice shouted, "kill Him!"
He was wounded and bruised for our sins, He was beaten that we might have peace
He was lashed and we were healed
They knew back then, Jesus would come, and this would happen
They took him to the skull, they mocked and laughed at Him
They offered Him wine, they called Him, the king of the Jews
He was blindfolded and hit (who hit you?).
You are the Messiah (Prove it)
The curtain split in half, The Earth shook and the rocks broke
Tombs opened and they came alive, the world was dark from noon ‘til three
Judas hung himself, he knew what he'd done
Father, I give my spirit to you, and with those words He died
Three days later, He rose from the dead, they didn't believe
Suddenly, He joined them on the road, they didn't recognize Him
Father
Father, you don't know how the story of the red letters go
You try harder than I know you do, but do you remember the gold rule?
She knows a lot, more than people think
She knows she's got, what it takes
I cry myself to sleep, and hope that when I wake, you'll love me
I know you think you do, but when you speak, I don't know if it's true
On the road, going home, she looks out the window
She cries without a sound, she knows he's lost and she's found
She knows a lot, more than people think
She knows He's lost and she knows that she's found a Father in Heaven
Father God, what should I do to let them know You are the truth?
Thank You for forgiving me, when they hung You on that tree
She knows a lot, more than people think
She knows she's got a Father in Heaven
Pardon Me
If you're a Christian, why do you swear?
If you're a Christian, why do you take the Lord's name in vain?
Well, please, pardon me, if I'm not perfect in your eyes
Well, please, pardon me, if I'm not perfect, well, I'm not perfect
If you are born again, then why do you weep?
If you are born again, then why do you shut your eyes and cry?
Well, please, pardon me, if I'm not perfect in your eyes
Well, please, pardon me, if I'm not perfect, well, I'm not perfect
I heard you lie last week, it was a tiny little lie
But it was a lie, you hypocrite
Hypocrisy, democracy, what do these words mean to me?
Hypocrisy, democracy, what do these words mean?
You see, I'm a sinner, and I will be ’til The day I die
You see, I am a sinner, but I believe in Jesus Christ
Well, please, pardon me, if I'm not perfect in your eyes
Well, please, pardon me, if I'm not perfect, well, I'm not perfect
